History

From the trade. For the trade

The Offene Systeme Software! team has its roots in the promotional products trade – that’s why we know exactly what matters.

  1. 1970s

    The search begins

In the mid-1970s the Appel team – a sales agency and promotional products wholesaler – looks for suitable software. No standard program meets its needs.

  2. Then

    Tailor-made in Karlsruhe

Experts from the Technologiefabrik Karlsruhe develop a custom solution. Appetite grows with eating: a young developer keeps extending it.

  3. Windows

    A new standard

With MS Windows, the old software reaches its limits. After seven years of development experience, none of the available packages passes the future check.

  4. 1996

    The decision

In autumn 1996 the team decides to build its own software on the MS Office platform. Work on KS1 begins.

  5. 1997

    KS1 goes live

In mid-1997 the first version of KS1 goes into production.

  6. 1998

    Founded

In early 1998 the department is spun off and Offene Systeme Software! is founded to market KS1.

  7. 2017

    20 years

PSI Journal publishes a portrait for our 20th anniversary.

  8. Today

    KS1 4.0 with AI

More than 450 customers, a product database with around 300,000 items, a new request shop and the AI Idea Scout.

KS1 – Profitabel handeln.
